SPRIIT OF LIGHT
The Spirit of light is a study model of how light can be manipulated. From a group case study of Arthur Erickson, we learned how light can be used in architecture by varying the angles and the depth of the window panes. The windows can also be used to create reflections of either the sky or ground that make Erickson's building seem almost weightless. Individually, we each created a floating sculpture that would have similar affect as we see in Erickson's work. The spirit of light is a piece that appears to merge with the water (ground).
